50 Cent will make his debut in the fiction novel space this year, and he’s unveiled the cover and concept behind his upcoming project.
Titled The Accomplice, the book is set to hit shelves in September through Amistad, an imprint of HarperCollins. It will be the first in a two-book deal he has inked with the company.
“I want to bring a big heist story to the page,” 50 told PEOPLE in a statement on Friday (March 1). “My debut fiction novel and its follow-up series will be captivating.”
Described as a cross between NBC’s Prime Suspect and Netflix’s Money Heist,The Accomplice follows FBI agent Nia Robinson, who has joined the agency and its robbery division for a very personal reason. After becoming one of the first Black men to reach an executive level banking position at his job, her father is accused and later convicted of embezzlement.
When readers meet her, Robinson is on a mission to not only clear her father’s name, but to make sure the real mastermind behind the crime, Desmond Robert, is put away. The cover art features Agent Robinson alone on a desolate street, looking over shoulder, with an overlay of Robert’s face.
Sharing the cover to Instagram, 50 took a jab at his frenemy Floyd Mayweather as he wrote, “I have no beef with anyone, I even made sure the audiobook comes out at the same time so champ won’t feel left out. [shrug emoji] GLG GreenLightGang The accomplice Movie coming soon.”
50 Cent has not taken his foot off the gas in some time. Just before the novel announcement, the G-Unit leader celebrated BMF getting renewed for a fourth season by STARZ.
Fif wrote on Instagram on Thursday (February 29): “You know the vibes season 4 [bomb emoji] on the way. It’s only gonna get bigger and better but catch season 3.”
He also shared a video from Power star Gianni Paolo, who could be seen promoting the season three premiere of BMF over a backdrop of a news article about Meech’s reduced sentence.
Paolo said: “I just wanna say I’m super excited for the best show on STARZ to be back — BMF. Season three airs March 1st and I’m just so excited to see it.”
He then joked: “It’s way, way better than Power. I don’t even like Power. I’m just here for a paycheck. I’d rather be on BMF.”
50 added in the caption: “LOL GLG GreenLightGang we all on the same team. We been #1 In African American and Latina households for 11years. @giannivpaolo is just different!”
