Chicago natives Kanye West and Lil Durk have made some incredible music together over the years. Durk (real name Durk Banks) appears on West’s 2021 album Donda and is set to appear on Ye’s upcoming single, ‘Vultures’.
As Kanye gears up to release his new project, he has called on Durk to help him with the rollout of ‘Vultures’, and it is highly possible that Banks may feature on more than just one track.
However, unfortunately for West, at the start of this year, Lil Durk vowed to get off social media. Known for his online shenanigans, it appeared that the Chicago emcee wanted a break from all the feuds and criticism he was involved in.
As such, he has been absent on his social media channels for a long time. Ye, on the other hand, hopes Durk will reconsider so the pair can gift fans with their new creation. That said, West recently took to Instagram urging Banks to get back online.
Taking to Instagram, Ye simply wrote, “Tell Durk activate his Instagram it’s time to drop.” Fans have been speculating as to what Kanye meant with his message. Does it mean Durk needs to drop his own material? Or does he need Durk to activate because he plans on dropping something soon?
Kanye recently announced that his upcoming collaborative album, Vulture, with Ty Dolla $ign, will be released in three volumes. Prompting Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff to label him a “hilarious little cry baby b*tch!”
So far, fans have only heard snippets of the project in videos of the various listening parties West has hosted, one of which saw him contentiously lecture the attendees about Zionism. You can see West’s call for Durk to reactivate is Instagram below.
