Tony McFarr – a renowned stuntman and actor who is perhaps best known for working closely as Chris Pratt’s double – has passed away suddenly at the age of 47.
The news was confirmed to TMZ by McFarr’s mother, Donna, who revealed that the stuntman’s death was “unexpected”, adding that her son had been “active and healthy”.

McFarr reportedly died at him home in Orlando, Florida, on May 13.
No further details have been provided regarding the stuntman’s death at this time, but TMZ does report that The Orange County Medical Examiner has the case and is running toxicology tests.

McFarr and Chris Pratt started working together when the stuntman was cast as his double on 2015’s Jurassic World.
The pair would continue to work together throughout the movies Passengers, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Pratt, 44, would often take to social media to praise McFarr and celebrate their work together.
In one Instagram post, Pratt hailed their friendship, writing: “Here’s me and my stunt-man Tony McFarr (also Tommy Harper stunt coordinator and our first AD Lars Winther) on set. Been working with Tony since Jurassic World. Love you buddy! Happy wrap!”

McFarr also carried out stunt work on movies like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, Furious 7, and Captain America: Civil War.
He also worked as Jon Hamm’s stunt double in the 2018 comedy movie Tag.
On the small screen, he also performed stuntwork for shows like Bones, Teen Wolf, Homeland, and The Walking Dead.
Tony was also an actor himself, with acting credits in shows like Macgyver, Burn Notice, and One Tree Hill.
