Camila Cabello Looks Unrecognizable with Platinum Blonde Hair in New Music Tease — and Her Fans Are Loving It!

Camila Cabello channeled the ’90s with her new hairdo.

The “Senorita” singer, 26 shared a peek at her new hairstyle in an Instagram Reel on Thursday.

Cabello’s montage video included different clips showing off her platinum blonde look, which also includes her signature blunt bangs. She styled the new look wavy with the trending “wet” hair look — with help from hair colorist Nikki Lee and hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos.

Throughout the video, Cabello films herself with her handheld camcorder as she poses in the mirror. She’s also seen wearing a cropped white tee, black low-rise pants and a black G-string that peeks above her pants.

She finished her ’90s-inspired look with brown glossy lipstick with a dark brown lip liner, a shimmery eyeshadow and smudged black eyeliner.

She captioned the video, “it’s time >:),” hinting that she may be releasing new music soon.

Her fans loved the new look, including Dinah Jane, who commented, “wowwww blondes have more funnn😍🤪.”

“Guys it’s time together ready to put her at the top of the charts again, it’s been awhile,” one fan wrote.

“Camila wanted a big moment for 2024 and what bigger moment than her going platinum blonde! A color she has never been before,” Lee said in a statement Thursday. “Our promise to each other was we could do it, but only if we kept her hair as healthy as possible. We got her to this color with 3 appointments.”

Lee added that it is “important to be patient” when going from “almost black hair to platinum blonde hair” and to “understand that it’s a process.”

“We used L’Oreal Paris Féria Toner in Icy Blonde is an easy way for her to eliminate any brassiness and keep her hair shiny until she can get back into the salon to see me,” Lee concluded. “We’re loving everything about this change on her, she’s glowing and it’s channeling 2024 vibes for sure!”

Cabello previously told PEOPLE that beauty wasn’t always a priority for her. At the Evolution with Beauty: of L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth event in November 2023, the singer-songwriter and brand ambassador opened up about her relationship with beauty.

“It’s really evolved so much. I feel like when I was younger and I started working, beauty was just the last thing on my mind,” Cabello told PEOPLE.

“Being in an immigrant family … it felt frivolous to me,” she added. “Now I’m like, ‘No, it’s actually just an expression of joy and what it means to be alive.’ I’m obsessed with beauty now. It’s just so fun.”

Cabello’s mother, Sinuhe Cabello, served as “a big inspiration” for her by offering up beauty advice — and always being honest, she said.

“She will be like, ‘Your whole vibe is amazing, but you got to fix that part.’ For her, it’s always been [about how] looking your best really makes you feel more confident. It’s not some frivolous, shallow thing,” said the Grammy-nominated musician. “It makes you feel better for you. It’s true.”
