Doro Pesch recently answered some fan questions for Metal Hammer and explained what she thought of joining Motörhead for a possible Lemmy Kilmister tribute show. Revealing whether she was open to the idea, the singer said:
“Yes, of course, no question! We did a Lemmy special at Wacken recently with Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee. I did ‘Love Me Forever’ – that was my first duet with Lemmy [on 2000’s ‘Calling The Wild’ LP]. Also, we did ‘Ace Of Spades’ with all the guests, and there was a big drone show, so we had Lemmy’s face in the sky smoking a cigarette. There was even a puff of smoke; it was awesome!”
While she honored Lemmy’s memory in the eighth year of his death at the Wacken Open Air festival, Pesch paid tribute to the late singer with a music video on his first death anniversary in 2016.
Doro And Lemmy’s Friendship
The singer released a clip of Kilmister’s videos and photos for their collaboration song, ‘It Still Hurts,’ on his death anniversary. She shared it on Facebook with a caption that read:
“Today is exactly one year ago since the rock ‘n’ roll world lost Lemmy Kilmister, one of its greatest ever — and one of my best and most beloved friends. One year… and we miss Lemmy so much. The wish to honor him and his remembrance day with a video showing some beautiful moments came from deep within our hearts. And here it is: In Memoriam – Lemmy, one of the greatest heroes in Rock.”
Doro and Lemmy were long-time friends before the Motörhead member died on December 28, 2015. The ‘Rare Diamond’ singer recorded a few songs like ‘Alone Again’ with the late vocalist and mentioned how he ‘saved her life many times’ in her past interviews.
