J Cole’s new album 4 Your Eyez Only is out next week and it’s causing controversy already.
Fans say one of the tracks, False Prophets, could be about Kanye West and his recent behaviour.
West was released from an LA hospital yesterday after apparently being treated for exhaustion.
“Ego in charge of every move, he’s a star. And we can’t look away due to the days that he caught our hearts,” raps J Cole.

The pair have collaborated in the past and J Cole has spoken of his admiration for Kanye West.
Although he doesn’t name Kanye directly, he does appear to criticise “someone” for becoming self-obsessed.
@Mr_BQC “J. Cole literally did everything but say Kanye’s name on False Prophets. That diss was clear as purified water.”
He raps: “He’s falling apart but we deny it, justifying that half-ass **** he dropped, we always buy it.
“When he tell us he a genius but it’s clearer lately, it’s been hard for him to look in the mirror lately.”
But some fans are questioning if it was bad-timing on the behalf of J Cole to release the track so soon after Kanye’s illness.
The star spent a week in hospital after LA Police responded to a report of a disturbance but later said it was a “medical emergency”.
It came a day after he cancelled his Saint Pablo tour after a series of rants on-stage.
@cthagod tweeted “False Prophets is a great record but can J Cole get away with that since Kanye is “mentally ill?” How fake woke Twitter feel about this?”
Some disagree it’s about Kanye West at all, while others believe it’s simply J Cole reaching out and saying he misses the artist he once idolised.
Whatever the truth behind the track it appears to take a brutal swipe at the price paid by an unnamed artist for fame.
“That wasn’t a diss by Cole. That was an observation from a fans perspective,” says Grant on Twitter.
“Nobody with the balls to say something to contest him, so he grows out of control into the person that he truly was all along.
“It’s starting to show. Damn, wonder what happened.”
