She goes by the name “Momma Jane” to her son’s friends, but now a 50 Cent super fan has been catapulted to international stardom.
Mary Jane Farquharson, 64, had the time of her life at the US rapper’s Birmingham gig on Tuesday.
And she came away with more than she bargained for after a video of her moves went viral.
The clip has even been shared by the man himself, racking up hundreds of thousands of views online.
The 48-year-old rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, said Ms Farquharson was “by far” the coolest person at the Resorts World Arena show.
“She was rocking with me,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

For Ms Farquharson, seeing the hip hop superstar had long been on her bucket list.
But it was not until long after she got home from the gig that she realised her moves had also become part of the show.
Ms Farquharson, from Nuneaton, had woken at the crack of dawn to tend to her Staffordshire Bull Terrier Faith, who needs eye drops.
She then went back to bed before realising her phone was buzzing like mad.
‘I thought it was a wind up’
“I didn’t take any notice of it,” she said. “I thought, ‘I will deal with that later’.”
However, the hip-hop lover was blown away when she finally looked at her mobile.
“All my friends and neighbours were sending me messages,” she said. “I thought, ‘This is a wind up’,” she added.
Ms Farquharson thanked the thousands of people who had left “nice comments”, but said she did not class herself as an old lady.
“If you meet me, I’m not,” she joked. “I can hold my own with anybody, young or old.”
While perhaps slightly older than 50 Cent’s core demographic, she cannot get enough of rap music after being introduced by her son Ross, 38, who was also at the concert with her.
Ms Farquharson said the genre was regularly played at home, with Detroit rapper Eminem also among her favourites.
“If you were to visit my room all I have ever got on the telly is MTV,” she said.
Ms Farquharson said she particularly enjoyed hearing her favourite 50 Cent song In da Club during the concert – a song which also serves as her mobile ringtone.
‘Unforgettable moments’
She claimed she was spotted on Tuesday by support act Busta Rhymes before being filmed by a member of the production crew.
“I was having a whale of time,” she added. “I thought he was filming the crowd behind me, I’m not special.”
Ms Farquharson now hopes she will get to meet 50 Cent after he shared her performance on social media.
Resorts World Arena said bosses absolutely loved her energy at the show.
“Seeing her enthusiasm is a testament to how music can bring people together,” a spokesperson said.
“As a venue, we pride ourselves on giving fans unforgettable moments like this.”
