The renowned rapper brought up three children.
Despite his rough demeanor, Eminem is a huge softie when it comes to his children.
Hailie Jade Scott, Alaina Scott, and Stevie Laine Scott are the rapper’s three children with his ex-wife, Kim Scott.
In 2004, Eminem, whose actual name is Marshall Mathers, told Rolling Stone, “Bein’ a dad is definitely living a double life.” “Freedom of expression was something I firmly believed in even before Hailie was born. But when I go to my house’s gates, that’s when I become a father. Bringing the children to school, picking them up, and imparting regulations. Not that I’m a great parent, but being there for my children and raising them morally is what matters most.”
He even acknowledges his children’s role in his sobriety. With the support of his family, he managed to overcome his celebrity addiction, even if he “couldn’t concentrate” on it while in treatment. 2010: “I love them so much and they’ve helped me through so many things,” he said to New York Times Magazine.

Scott, Hailie Jade, 28
On December 25, 1995, Hailie Jade Scott was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her father wrote many songs about the 28-year-old, including “Mockingbird” and “Hailie’s Song.” She has always been the joy of his life. “My insecurities could eat me alive / But then I see my baby / Suddenly I’m not crazy / It all makes sense when I look into her eyes,” he sings on the 2002 smash single.
Eminem said in 2001 that his daughter had served as “a real wakeup call” for him. He told the British magazine Q, “She made me get my ass in gear — to make something of my life and try 10 quadrillion times harder than I had before.” “Everything that I am doing right now is for Hailie … the money — it’s for her college.”
Hailie has been known to assist her father in return, even attending his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction celebration in November 2022 alongside her well-known father. The two wore matching black leather coats to the Los Angeles event.
Hailie earned a psychology degree and a stellar 3.9 GPA from Michigan State College. He said, “She’s made me proud for sure,” during an appearance on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson in 2020. He also mentioned that she is concentrating on her work and has “no babies”. Merely a romantic partner. She is doing well.
Hailie revealed her engagement to Evan McClintock, her partner of more than five years, in February 2023.
Hailie looks back on her early years with nostalgia and says she’s still “very close” with her father. “I always think about that time we went to Florida, my dad was working on something, and he set up for us to do, like, the limo and take it to Disney and we did the princess tea party, and he had the dresses waiting for us,” she said on her podcast Just a Little Shady in the year 2022. “At the time, we were so happy and so excited, but we didn’t get to appreciate that moment as much as now when we talk about it and think back on it.”
On her podcast in September 2022, Hailie discussed her unusual upbringing once more. The podcaster said, “The best way to say this is yes and no,” when asked whether she is troubled by inquiries about her father. To be honest, it’s kind of there,” she remarked, going on, “I kind of expected it. And there are certain things that, like anybody who has sort of grown up partially in the limelight, I can see why people are simply really fascinated about.”
Hailie said of the incessant questioning, “I feel like growing up, when it would happen, I would get more bothered by it because I was like, ‘Why do people care?’” “Being young, I didn’t fully comprehend the circumstances, so I thought, ‘That’s my dad,’” I don’t inquire about your father. Hailie clarifies, “Some stuff it’s just like, that’s weird,” but she acknowledges that some individuals want to double check what they’ve heard. Let’s proceed.”
Hailie revealed the second season of her podcast, Just A Little Shady, in July 2023, to commemorate the show’s one anniversary. She posted a picture of herself and co-host Brittany Ednie with the following caption: “@justalittleshadypodcast has been around for a year .” Over the last year, a lot has transpired, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our JALS family .”
“We’ll be returning in August with even more guests, entertaining set designs, listener-inspired new merchandise designs, and more Stay tuned,” she continued.
Later that year, Hailie went to a Detroit Lions game with Eminem and McClintock, her future husband, marking a rare public appearance for the father-daughter team.
Scott, Alaina Marie, thirty
On February 22, 1993, Alaina Marie Scott was born in Michigan to Dawn, Kim’s sister. Her mother battled drug addiction and passed away in 2016 from what was believed to be an overdose. Eminem formally adopted her in the early 2000s. A suspected overdose.
The rapper said, “I have full custody of my niece,” to Rolling Stone in 2004 about the now 29-year-old. “Since her birth, my niece has been a part of my life. She was essentially ours, living with Kim and myself wherever we went.” In 2020, he said that Alaina, who he often refers to as Lainey in his song lyrics, is “like a daughter” to him.
In his 2004 smash song “Mockingbird,” Eminem mentions Alaina by rapping, “Lainey, uncle’s insane ain’t he? / Yes, but you must believe that he loves you, daughter, because that’s all we have left in this world.”
After attending Oakland University, Alaina earned a bachelor’s degree in communication with a double minor in advertising and public relations.
Alaina is a travel blogger these days, often updating her Instagram fans on her travels. She proposed to her longtime partner, Matt Moeller, in December 2021. “This life, this time. In a hundred words, yes. She wrote, “I love you,” as the caption for a series of pictures from the rooftop proposal, one of which included her stunning emerald-cut diamond ring.
In an outdoor ceremony held in Detroit, Michigan on June 9, 2023, Alaina tied the knot with Moeller. Numerous friends and family members were there, such as Eminem, who escorted Alaina down an 80-foot aisle adorned with 2,000 white flowers, and Hailie, who played the role of a bridesmaid.
She told PEOPLE, “He wasn’t going to miss that.” These are once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and I’m really appreciative of everyone’s devotion for me. Without my dad, none of this would have been possible. I’m quite fortunate.
Alaina posted pictures from her big day on Instagram, including a goofy shot of the happy pair flashing their rings and another of the wedding party posing as a group.
But the festivities for the wedding don’t stop there! Alaina has shown her support for Hailie, who is getting ready to be married. Alaina shared a heartfelt picture of her sister on Instagram after her engagement in February 2023, stating, “My sister is finally engaged there’s not many moments in life that leave you feeling pure bliss, but this has to be one of them.”
“She’s crushing her career right now, crushing being one of my Maid of Honors, crushing her podcast, and everything else that she touches,” Alaina said, praising her sister’s achievements. I’m sure you’ll love being a wife even more. Hay, you deserve all of this and more. It’s amazing that I was able to organize my own wedding and can now do this with you.”
