Ice Cube Doesn’t Want to Be Called a “G.O.A.T.”

Ice Cube may be one of the greatest West Coast rappers of all time, but he doesn’t like the Greatest of All Time acronym.

The N.W.A. rapper shared his feelings on the superlative title on Twitter  .

Ice Cube Refutes Claim That N.W.A. Brought Destruction To Hip-Hop
“For those who thinks it flatters me, please don’t call me a f*****g goat. Carry-on,” he wrote, following up with another tweet several hours later: “Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the respect but don’t call me that.”

It isn’t clear why Cube dislikes “G.O.A.T.,” but he doesn’t appear to mind using it to refer to other rappers. Last year, he bestowed the title to Lil’ Wayne.

“It’s hard to beat Lil Wayne,” Cube said of Weezy when asked who Hip-Hop’s G.O.A.T. is during an appearance on the On the Guest List podcast.

“His metaphors are otherworldly. As far as lyrics and can make hits, you know. [He’s] been copied all these years and nothing but clones of Lil Wayne at the end of the day. So I just think, besides myself. I’ve done so much for the culture, but uh, yeah, yeah he’s dope.”
