Netflix released a biographical film about Mötley Crüe called ‘The Dirt‘ in 2019. Based on that, Mike Nelson asked John Corabi to explain whether things were as ‘crazy’ back in his day as the movie portrayed during a recent interview. While answering the question, the vocalist said:
“Yeah, it was. It was insanity. It was definitely drama and insanity all the time, which I’ve said in my book. As bummed out as I was that they brought Vince back, I was also relieved that I didn’t have to deal with s**t anymore. So, it was all good.”
The chat also touched on the public dispute between Mick Mars and Mötley Crüe. Corabi revealed that Mars has decided not to respond to anyone’s calls and distance himself from the feud as follows:
“You know what? Here’s my answer, dude: I have no idea. Mick is not returning anybody’s calls, and I don’t talk to Tommy [Lee], Nikki [Sixx], or Vince [Neil]. But none of it surprises me. None of it. So, I don’t really have an answer other than that.”
When the controversy between the band and the guitarist broke out, The Dead Daisies frontman noted his lack of contact with Mars in some of his interviews. Last month, he talked about the former Mötley Crüe member’s upcoming album in a chat with Eddie Trunk’s Trunk Nation. After revealing he didn’t know whether he’d be in the record, the singer shared:
“I texted Mick when that first press release came out, and he did not respond, which was odd for Mick. So, it was funny. I was in Switzerland, and I texted his wife Seraina, and I’m like, ‘I’m in your motherland.’ She immediately texted me back and said, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to go there at Christmas,’ or whatever it was. Then, I wrote, ‘How’s Mick?’ Radio silence.”
