Singer and businessman Jon Bon Jovi sat down with Forbes and discussed the hard work that went into his wine company, Hampton Water, which he built with his son Jessie. When asked whether he had concerns over the brand being taken seriously, Jon replied:
“We knew we had something great in the bottle. So now, how are we going to create a family business and not a celebrity brand? We’re here six years later with 90-point ratings and the number-five premium rosé in the United States.”
The singer added:
“Like in anything else, luck plays a factor. But really, it’s the hard work. It’s anything but a celebrity brand. (Laughing) I stopped my day to do an interview with you. We’ve put years into this. I think it’s proof that we’re serious.”
Bon Jovi had recently also bragged about their wine’s ratings in a recent interview with ‘Vier Flaschen – der Weinpodcast.’ He said:
“It’s bragging because I want to proudly say that Miraval, Minuty, Dominant, and Whispering Angel did not beat us this year, again. So we conducted to have higher ratings than all of them annually, and none of them can say that they had a 90-point rating four years in a row.”
Besides ratings, the singer also shared in a previous interview what Hampton Water means to him and how it’s not a celebrity brand but a family business. Jon expressed:
“This isn’t a celebrity brand of wine. This is our family business, and the credibility, it means more than anything. We didn’t get into this to make a buck. We really wanted to make sure that we had a business. There were no excuses for it. This is good wine. End of story.”
