Kanye West Ties Miley Cyrus With Another No. 1 Song

Despite remaining incredibly controversial, Kanye West’s latest full-length album, Vultures 1, has proved to be very popular. The set opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week, and the track that fans selected as their favorite from the project, “Carnival,” has also become a quick hit as well. That tune blasts in at No. 1 on another Billboard chart–and as it does, the rapper ties with several fellow superstars for a spot in the history books.

West and his collaborator Ty Dolla $ign debut their track “Carnival” at No. 1 on the latest edition of the Streaming Songs chart. Billboard publishes the ranking each week, listing the most-streamed tunes in the U.S. across a variety of popular platforms.

“Carnival” marks the first No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart for $ign, but West has been here before. This latest win marks his fourth trip to the summit on the streaming-only ranking. With another winner, the hip-hop musician is now tied with Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, Lil Baby, and Megan Thee Stallion for the sixth-most rulers ever on the tally.

Before “Carnival” arrived, West was tied with another group of successful artists who also span genres. When he was steady with his trio of No. 1s on the Streaming Songs chart, the troubled musician was on the same level as Beyoncé, Juice WRLD, Kendrick Lamar, and Olivia Rodrigo.

West first hit No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart in June 2018, when “All Mine” worked its way to the peak spot for a single frame. Later that year, he doubled his career total, as “I Love It” with Lil Pump also shot to the summit. He earned his third leader in 2021, when “Hurricane” rose to the highest rung.
