Nikki Sixx Aims For A 100-Year Lifespan After A Life-Changing Decision To Quit ‘This’ Vehicle

Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx recently tweeted about yearning to ride a motorcycle:

“Today I got that strong urge to ride again. The feel of those ape hangers and the sound of fishtail pipes can’t be matched.”

In the tweet, he further explained why he doesn’t go back to his Harley days:

“Then I remembered why I sold my Harleys. Too many close calls. Way too many. I’ll stick with a convertible and my projected 100-year lifespan.”

On or off a motorcycle, Nikki Sixx lived a fast life, and his heart couldn’t endure all of it. In 1987, he had a heroin overdose after partying with Slash and Steven Adler, and his heart stopped for two minutes. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he was eventually announced dead. It is unknown how he came back to life by himself. Consequently, he released ‘Kickstart My Heart’ in 1989. Nikki once said that ‘dying hurts,’ regarding the matter.

Throughout the ’80s, he was involved in dangerous accidents under heroin’s influence. In 1983, he shot a rocket into the air, and it crashed onto his Mustang. A year later, he crashed his Porsche into a telephone pole and ended up severing his shoulder.
