Rick Ross has his sights on an established talent to add to his label roster. The Maybach Music Group boss took to social media on Thursday (Oct. 19) to relay his desire to sign Kanye West and release new music.
“As I’m inhaling the alkaline air, my brain is enhanced with oxygen, on special levels. I just had an amazing idea, a boss idea,” detailed the 47-year-old rapper in the video captured by the social media platform Kurrco. “This is something that’s extremely realistic to me. We’ve created amazing masterpieces in the past.”
He continued, “The boss, Ricky Rozay, I’m interested in signing Kanye West. Maybach Music. Ye, what’s up? Talk to me. Let’s make history, baby,” as Yeezy’s “Barry Bonds” played in the background.

A secondary video uploaded by HipHopDX features the “Hustlin” rapper elaborating on his plan.
“But like I’m saying, I’m a creative. I’m an artist. Imagine if Ye came and allowed MMG to distribute his new project,” detailed the Grammy-nominated performer. “Imagine that. What’s your favorite Rick Ross-Ye collab? Imagine that. Imagine the artistic drive.”
He added, “And I got some amazing ideas for the Yeezy brand. Let’s speak.”
Currently the “Biggest Boss” is gearing up to drop a collaborative project with rapper Meek Mill. Too Good To Be True is slated for a Nov. 10 release date after both artists teased the album on social media.
“Ni**as ain’t seen me or Ross around each other for a long time,” shared the Philadelphia native. “We got back to the business, straight back to the family, love, and jumped right back in the studio immediately. So, y’all about to get that live and direct and what happens. Tune in.”
The duo released the single “Lyrical Eazy” on Friday (Oct. 20) with an accompanying video. In September, they teamed up for “Kobe and Shaq.”
