Rod Stewart recently recalled the time he survived a robbery in Buenos Aires. On Tuesday, the singer shared an old interview about his gun-fuelled encounter with ITN.
He shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) and asked the fans to help him name the restaurant where the ‘insane encounter’ occurred.
In the clip, the rocker explained:
“Police come in with a sawn-off shotgun, and the robbers were there with their guns neither of them had the guns cocked. And we was all under the table, there was bullets flying everywhere. We was really lucky to get out of with our lives.”
Some fans named the restaurant ‘Parrilla La Candela,’ which no longer is around, and one fan shared an article in Spanish about the incident’s history. According to the report, the musician was in Buenos Aires to cheer on his team in the 78 World Cup, after which he went to the named restaurant. The incident only lasted a few minutes before the police came in to take down the thieves.
Well, it wasn’t the first time the musician found himself in the middle of a robbery. In 1982, Stewart got his sports car stolen while shopping in Holywood. In fact, he was forced to help the robber to start the car. Stewart didn’t talk to the press after the incident, and the details were revealed later.
Below, you can see the clip.
