Mammoth WVH’s Wolfgang Van Halen recently shared his thoughts on the new lineup of Pantera. During a chat with the host of 101 WRIF, Wolfgang made it clear that he was aware of the dispute and picked his side. He said:
“I know there’s a lot of arguing over that whole situation. And I think regardless of how you feel about it, they sound amazing. And at the end of the day, that’s all that really matters. The justice to the material is there. And they are killing it, man; it sounds so great.”
Pantera’s new lineup consists of the original two members, along with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. While the band received a significant amount of criticism from the fans and listeners, they gained positive feedback from other rockers such as Corey Taylor and Lamb Of God’s Mick Morton.
Taylor said in an interview that while it’s interesting to see Wylde and Benante in the band, they sound incredible. Similarly, Morton stated he loved the new lineup while claiming that no one, even Wylde, could fill Dimebag Darrell’s shoes.
Wolfgang recently shared Pantera’s stage with Soulfly’s Max Cavalera and Mike DeLeon to sing ‘Walk.’ See the video for the duet and the latest interview, both down below.
