A special night for Terence Crawford began with a special ring walk as he was joined by legendary rapper Eminem.

Crawford became the undisputed welterweight champion after a dominant performance against Errol Spence Jr in their blockbuster $100m fight in Las Vegas.

Ahead of the fight, Crawford had spoken of how he would love Eminem to join him for his walk-on – and it turned out ‘Bud’ is one of ‘Slim Shady’s’ favourite boxers. Responding to the plea on social media, Eminem said: “This is 2 crazy.!!! You r 1 of my favourite boxers rn!.”

Crawford replied: “Pull up Em! Let’s do some legendary s*** [two goat emojis].”

True to his word, Eminem was at Crawford’s side as he emerged into the T-Mobile Arena. He then walked to the ring backed Eminem’s legendary track ‘Lose Yourself’, although the rapper didn’t sing it live. Nevertheless, fans loved the sight of two greats of their respective fields side by side.

“How can you lose after that walk out,” said one. Another added: “It was over the second this happened.”

A few were surprised that Eminem did perform his own song, with one saying: “Kind of odd that Eminem came and didn’t rap when his song played.”

It took just two rounds for Crawford to land his first of three knockdowns, with the next two coming in round seven. Spence was brave throughout the bout, hanging on in a fight he was significantly behind in, but eventually Crawford took it out of his hands in the ninth.

Crawford showed his respect to his downed opponent after the fight and said he would be up for a rematch.

“I’m so blessed. Like I said before, I only dreamed of being a world champion, I’m an overachiever,” he said.

“No one believed in me when I was coming up but I made everyone a believer. I want to thank Spence, his team like I told them without him none of this would be possible, right here tonight.”
